Helping You Pursue Your Personal Injury Claim With Confidence

Kenney & Medina law firm is hiring an Associate Attorney

We are hiring an attorney to help litigate all types of personal injury cases including car wrecks,  negligent security, premises liability, slip and fall, trip and fall, medical malpractice, nursing home neglect and commercial vehicle wreck lawsuits. More information is set forth below.

Our Firm

We represent seriously injured people and families of those who have recently lost a loved one. Our firm is thirty years old. We have two lawyers, one of whom does the injury cases and the other handles probate estates for our wrongful death cases (and he does other estate planning and probate work). We have both been practicing law for 36 years.

We do not take low dollar cases. We are not a volume settlement firm. We do not hesitate to file suit on a case and generally do put most  of our cases in suit, with  some cases  resolving prior to filing suit.

We do not advertise on television, radio, or billboards. Instead, the majority of our cases are referred to the firm by other lawyers, former clients, friends and people we know in the community   who know who we are, what we do and how hard we work to achieve the best results for our clients.

The principals of our firm own an office building on Main Street in fast-growing Suwanee that has ten offices and two large conference rooms with some room to grow. We are located in an area referred to as Old Towne Suwanee. We may open a satellite office closer to Atlanta one day if we believe it will help us serve our clients. We intend to grow our firm by adding an associate and eventually another senior level attorney. We have no hard deadline by which to make a decision on either position and are primarily focused on the associate attorney position right now.

The Position – Associate Attorney

The new attorney at our firm will be working on approximately 20 – 40 cases, all personal  injury cases. Thomas Kenney will be overseeing and working on all of those cases with the new attorney. A full-time paralegal will also be part of the litigation team. We have four additional full-time staff members.

You would be involved in all aspects of litigation including reviewing Defendants’ discovery responses,  filing motions to compel, preparing voluminous non-party document requests, reviewing and organizing document exchanges, finding, preparing for and interviewing, deposing, attending  mediations,   preparing for trial, and aiding in and handling the trial of cases. You would negotiate with insurance companies and/or Defense counsel,  communicate with clients on a regular basis and work with our entire team to achieve the best results possible for our clients.

A qualified candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and an active bar membership in good standing in the State of Georgia. We want to hire a Plaintiff’s personal injury attorney with one to three years experience who has been litigating in a similar environment, whether as a Plaintiff’s attorney or defense attorney, but will consider other levels of experience and backgrounds such as prosecutors.  We want someone who has some experience, but we will provide training and supervision. We work together on teams so you will never be handling a case by yourself. In a small firm environment, we have found that  self-discipline, a desire to win and  professionalism  are important characteristics of an attorney in this area of the law.

Salary and benefits

We offer a base annual salary BOE of $85,000.00 to $100,000.00 plus a percentage of the revenue generated from the cases to which you are assigned plus a discretionary bonus; a health insurance program; paid time off;  401K plan; customary Holiday/vacation/sick leave  time off/pay and annual reviews.

Opportunity for Growth

We believe you will gain tremendous experience with the luxury of having an experienced attorney working with you. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop your own expertise in one or more areas of practice, to expand on a particular area that is of interest to you, to market your services, and to grow into a position of ownership/partnership. I plan to work full time for another ten to twelve years.

What you need to do to apply

Send an email containing a cover letter, a resume, and if possible two writing samples (such as briefs, coverage letters, ) and two deposition transcripts or partial transcripts which you took to [email protected]. All applications will be kept in the strictest of confidence. We will only reach out to those candidates we believe would be a good fit.
